Panels
Please see the EngineeringUK governance structure made up of the following Panels below. Links to more information about each panel is accessible from the menu left.
Business & Industry Panel
EngineeringUK has created a select panel consisting of the leaders of some of the UK's most influential companies to make our Business & Industry (B&I) Panel. The B&I Panel meets four times a year to help drive and formulate EngineeringUK's agenda. The Panel gives industry an opportunity to participate solving the skills issues facing the UK.
Education and Skills Panel
The Education and Skills Panel exists to advise and position the view of the EngineeringUK board on the different strands of education, skills and policy related to engineering and associated subjects. The panel which currently consists of 16 members is chaired by Mr Amarjit Basi, Principal and Chief Executive, New College Nottingham. Previous Chairs have been Professor Christopher Snowden, Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive of the University of Surrey (April 2008 – May 2009) and Dr Christine Braddock CBE, Principal and Chief Executive of Birmingham Metropolitan College (June 2009 – November 2011).
The Professional Panel
The Professional Panel makes up one third of the EngineeringUK governance structure with the Business and Industry Panel and the Education and Skills Panel. The Professional Panel aims to advise us on issues relevant to the profession, which then informs our activities and recommends appropriate actions. It provides a forum in which to debate and implement matters of common interest and benefit the Profession and society.
Careers Advisory Panel
Since forming in 2003, the Careers Advisory Panel (CAP)have worked to change the negative perceptions of careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and implement good quality careers information programmes to help reverse the trend. Such projects the CAP have executed include the enginuity careers resource pack, careers information CD ROM ‘engineers@work’ for careers advisers, and a careers advisers work shadowing pilot study, among others.
