Tomorrow’s Engineers Communications Toolkit
Introduction to the Tomorrow’s Engineers Communication Toolkit
Paul Jackson, Chief Executive of EngineeringUK.
Welcome to the Tomorrow’s Engineers Communications Toolkit, which is designed to help you to secure coverage for your projects and maintain consistent messaging about the programme.
Tomorrow’s Engineers is led by EngineeringUK and the Royal Academy of Engineering, with support from The Lloyd’s Register Educational Trust and others. Our delivery partners include Primary Engineer, The Engineering Development Trust (EDT), The Industrial Trust (now part of EDT), Smallpeice Trust and Young Engineers. We provide funding, communications, evaluation and administrative support to organisations to help deliverer high quality extra-curricular engineering activities, training and careers information to targeted schools and communities across the UK.
Tomorrow’s Engineers creates sustainable long-term involvement with communities, schools and colleges in order to increase the uptake of engineering as a career.
Already engaging more than 35,000 students in over 1,000 targeted schools across the UK each year, Tomorrow’s Engineers brings engineering into the classroom, enabling young people to experience for themselves the possibilities that engineering has to offer.
The programme brings together a wide range of practical activities from a variety of experienced providers to deliver an integrated programme of enrichment activities. Activities are relevant to the curriculum and designed to meet the requirements of each Key Stage, making it easy for schools to plan ongoing engineering engagement throughout their students’ school lives.
We hope the Communications Toolkit provides you with useful information, guidance and materials to spread the word about the great work you are doing to inspire future generations of engineers.
