Education & Skills

At EngineeringUK, we believe that we can only achieve our aims through a thorough understanding of the education and skills landscape. Increasingly, to achieve these, we work in partnership with like-minded organisations, working groups, policy bodies and advisory boards.
We feel that the education and skills agenda is complicated and that – to get the best results – no single intervention is enough. Most people agree that education and skills play a fundamental strategic role in helping the UK to deliver a knowledge based economy. Taking this on board, we have established the Education & Skills Panel to help us achieve our goals in the education and skills arena.
Scope
Our education & skills delivery varies from influencing Government policy via consultation responses and lobbying to appropriate position or briefing papers. We also influence through third party committees and boards such as Education 4 Engineering (E4E) and the national STEM strategy. Additionally, we offer endorsement and advice on key education, skills and careers issues (via the Careers Advisory Panel chair) and via our established Education & Skills Panel. In parallel, our education and skills expert knowledge and advice provide robust underpinning of EngineeringUK programmes and allied joint partner initiatives.
