What I Do

As Head of Careers, I work with colleagues across the STEM and careers communities to develop a compelling engineering careers offer for young people and their influencers. My job is to convey to young people, teachers, careers leaders and others, the plentiful and rewarding opportunities offered by pursuing a career in engineering and the potential to make a real difference to the world.

I lead the EngineeringUK careers working group – comprising engineering and STEM education, outreach, careers and marketing specialists – which collectively produces inspiring, relevant and accessible engineering and tech careers content on behalf of the engineering community. The resources we create are housed on Neon and are used extensively, both by EngineeringUK (via our school engagement programmes) and others, including businesses and outreach organisations.

I support those working with young people (such as teachers, career leaders, careers advisers, outreach practitioners and company ambassadors) by giving them the tools and guidance needed to make a positive impact on young people’s career decision-making, helping them showcase the different pathways into engineering and the exciting opportunities that exist for young people in the sector.

Specialisms:

Inspiring the next generation, STEM careers provision, resources for schools.

I am an experienced facilitator and communicator, with an interest in equality, diversity and inclusion.
