EngineeringUK is supporting the Face of Engineering festival

Apr 5, 2022

We are delighted to announce that we are supporting the Face of Engineering festival. A 3-day event hosted at The Common Room, Newcastle from 7 to 9 April. The festival is a celebration of our shared ambition to inspire the next generation of engineers to find out about the careers on offer to them.

Why the Face of Engineering festival?

The Face of Engineering festival will challenge stereotypes of who an engineer is, celebrate and drive greater representation in the engineering workforce for women, people of colour and LGBTQ+ people, and bring together young people and families to inspire the next generation of innovators and engineers.

Everyone from industry professionals to families are invited to join the Face of Engineering festival and includes an industry conference, schools day and family day.

Join in-person or via live stream for a day-long industry conference and hear from a range of inspiring engineers and employers including Unipres – a Signatory of the Tomorrow’s Engineers Code - managed and delivered by EngineeringUK, The Code is a community of organisations who commit to working together towards common goals to increase the diversity and number of young people entering engineering careers.

Unipres are also delivering practical workshops using a virtual reality welding machine to young people on the schools day on Friday 8 April and the family activity day on Saturday 9 April.

Tickets for the industry conference and family day are free and can be booked at https://thecommonroom.org.uk/the-face-of-engineering-festival/
