Supporting the people of Scotland to shape their future

10 to 14 November 2025

Scottish Careers Week is dedicated to celebrating industries, career paths and opportunities across Scotland. Run by Skills Development Scotland, it highlights emerging sectors, supporting young people, career changers and the wider community to realise their potential.

EngineeringUK is proud to support the week.

Things to think about:

  • Scotland makes up 8% of the UK’s engineering and technology workforce
  • jobs in environment, energy and earth sciences are common
  • young people aged 16 and over can consider Modern Apprenticeships and Scottish Vocational Qualifications in engineering and technology sectors
  • Higher National Certificates and Higher National Diplomas are available in engineering and technology-based subjects
  • university degree courses in Scotland offer general engineering courses as well as more specific fields such as computer science, manufacturing and technology
