What are the Neon quality standards?
Quality matters to schools. That is why every activity on Neon must meet the Neon quality standards.
Activities featured on Neon should:
Be inclusive and accessible
Raise aspirations among young people
Include positive and contemporary STEM messaging
Support diversity and challenge stereotypes
Clearly explain learning outcomes
Include careers-related content
Demonstrate evaluation and continuous improvement
Support student reflection after participation
Be clear about costs and time commitments
Meet safeguarding, health and safety requirements
Meet data protection requirements
Hold appropriate public liability insurance
Activities for secondary students should also include an explicit careers dimension and align with at least 2 Gatsby Benchmarks.
How do I apply?

Step 1 Review the quality standards Read the Neon quality standards and check your activity can meet the requirements

Step 2 Prepare your information You'll need information about your activity, learning outcomes, target audiences, delivery model, careers content and your evaluation approach

Step 3 Submit your activity Complete the Neon activity submission form providing all the required information. You can complete this all in one go, or save and return to it later. It takes about 30 minutes.

Step 4 Quality review The Neon team reviews every submission against the quality standards

Step 5 Get support if needed If your activity doesn't yet meet the standards, the Neon team can provide guidance and support

Step 6 You’re on Neon! Once approved, your activity can be listed in the Neon activity directory and discovered by schools
