About the role
The Engineering Council is the UK regulatory body for the engineering profession and its board provides governance oversight and direction to the organisation, alongside support and constructive challenge. While the majority of Trustees are nominated by Professional Engineering Institutions, EngineeringUK has the important responsibility of appointing 7 trustees to ensure representation from across the wider engineering community and other related sectors. The Engineering Council and EngineeringUK were created with complementary missions in 2001 and work closely alongside each other, sharing core funding from the registration fees of the members of Professional Engineering Institutions who are professionally registered engineers and technicians.
EngineeringUK is looking for new trustees that can bring their skills and experience to support the Engineering Council in delivering its new 5-year strategy.
Both EngineeringUK and the Engineering Council are committed to equity, diversity and inclusion and recognise the need for trustees and staff to reflect a diverse range of people and views. We encourage applications from a diverse range of candidates including from outside the engineering or technology sectors.
