Our Head of Policy and Public Affairs, Beatrice Barleon, argues that closer cross-collaboration and smarter hiring processes will help garner more and new talent into manufacturing. The manufacturing industry contributes around £220 billion to the UK economy every year but getting and retaining new talent remains a huge problem to be overcome. Essentially industry needs to partner with government and educational institutions to help grow the workforce.

The Future of manufacturing campaign spotlights some of the challenges and opportunities the manufacturing sector currently faces within the context of the upcoming launch of the UK government’s industrial strategy.  It also showcases ongoing changes within the industry as well as its importance to the UK economy.
