Over 60,000 young people took part in this year's Dare to discover activities
Students from hundreds of schools across the UK were inspired to explore exciting careers in engineering and technology.
Tomorrow's Engineers Week took place 10 to 14 November. This year’s theme was Dare to discover, showing young people that it’s ok not to get things right the first time.

Throughout the week, hundreds of companies, organisations and individuals celebrated Tomorrow's Engineers Week by sharing their stories on social media. From experiments that didn't go as planned to career paths that took unexpected turns, these showed that trial and error is at the heart of engineering and technology.
A record 61,286 young people engaged with our content for schools during the week, including an assembly, lesson plans, videos and activities. We launched a selection of engaging new content, including:
- 16 blogs from Professional Engineering Institutions, showcasing different engineering industries
- 11 stories from people working in engineering and tech, talking about how they've dared to discover
- 8 panellists answering questions from schools and young people
Thank you to everyone who took part to help inspire the next generation of engineers!
Much of what I do now involves trial and error. In research, there is no escaping failed models or unsuccessful attempts. They are part of the process. There would be no need for research if all the answers were known. Every failure is a learning opportunity that refines the next attempt.
