Overview
At The Big Bang Fair 2025, we surveyed young people aged 10 to 13 to determine their awareness and understanding of professional registration for engineers. We then explained professional registration in an age-appropriate way, to identify if this had an effect on student interest in engineering.

- explaining registration increases interest. After hearing an age-appropriate definition, 62% of students said it made them more interested in engineering and 24% said it made no difference
- trust is a strong motivator, and learning that engineers are trusted professionals had additional impact on students. 70% said it made them more interested in engineering
