Raising awareness of how engineering shapes the world

5 November 2025

National Engineering Day, led by the Royal Academy of Engineering, celebrates the incredible contributions engineers make across the UK. It’s also a chance to raise awareness of how engineering improves lives, shapes the world around us, and inspire the general public. From everyday solutions to ground breaking innovations, it showcases the full range of what engineering can achieve.

For 2025, the day will concentrate on what it means, and what it could mean in the future, to be an engineer. The Royal Academy of Engineering also want to help the public update their views of what they think engineering is. With this in mind, the Academy are launching a new online guide, the ‘AI-Z of Engineering’ on National Engineering Day. It will feature more than 100 current engineering jobs and future-envisaged ones, sharing what engineers do today... and what they could do in the future.

EngineeringUK are proud to support National Engineering Day. Keep an eye on our social media and posts shared through our community and Tomorrow’s Engineers Week.
