Bursary applications open for schools
We are pleased to open applications for our STEM bursaries, helping secondary schools across the UK offer hands-on STEM engagement activities for students from all backgrounds. Schools can apply for £700 to inspire the engineering and technology professionals of the future.

We want more young people to start thinking about a possible future in STEM, and to spark interest among students who may not already see science or engineering as “for them”. Bursaries will be awarded to schools with high proportions of students from groups underrepresented in engineering and technology.
Schools that meet the EngineeringUK priority schools criteria can apply for £700 to run an activity on Neon or to host a Big Bang event in their own school. Neon is a website that helps teachers introduce their students to future STEM careers, raise their aspirations and explore the excitement of engineering through brilliant, quality-assured activities. Big Bang at School is an inspiring day filled with exciting science and engineering activities, workshops and project work.
Schools can apply for a bursary by 20 July at 5pm.
Without the bursary, we wouldn't have been able to offer such fantastic workshops for our school. The students had a great time and are now more inspired than ever to pursue science. There's a real buzz of excitement about science around the school!
— Teacher and former bursary recipient
A great STEM experience can change how a student sees themselves and their future. Our bursaries help schools bring learning to life with exciting activities. Over 26,000 young people took part in a STEM activity thanks to our bursaries last year. We’re looking forward to more young people from all backgrounds building confidence and curiosity through engineering and technology and to inspiring a diverse future workforce.
