A new campaign to find inspiring people who have made a difference to engineering and technology for the greater good, has been launched by the IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology).

The public can nominate people who they think have made a significant difference to the world of engineering and technology or who have paved the way for innovators of the future.

The nominations will help create the ultimate list of inspirational leaders and game changers, and the final selection will be included in the IET London: Savoy Place stairwell galleries exhibition.

The nominations will be judged by 11 judges from diverse backgrounds to help maintain an inclusive selection.

Anniversary year

Held as part of the IET’s 150th anniversary, Celebrating Impact aims to show how truly diverse and incredible the engineering and technology professions are and remove age-old, unrepresentative stereotypes of engineering being a white male dominated industry.

Anyone can nominate as many people as they like, from any point in time. The IET have created a gallery of inspirational leaders as a starting point to spur on thinking.

There are 3 categories for consideration:

  • Trailblazers of the past
  • Pioneers of the present
  • Visionaries of the future

Find out more about each category – nominations are open until 13 August 2021.
